Genealogy.us.org and its sister sites have been advertising on my sites?

CaptureNo! Can’t be!

Not after the ongoing battle documented in my previous posts on the situation with the company running these scam sites!

Luckily for me, a concerned viewer emailed this morning to let me know that she had seen an ad for the very same site in the banner spot on my own blog. I immediately logged into Google Adsense to see if there was a way to block advertisers, and there was. For those interested, I describe the procedure in my consumer blog, ‘View From the Empty Nest’.

Now I just have to wait and see if I did it correctly and hope no more ads for these sites show. By the way, there is an additional url now. All of the known urls to avoid are:

  • familyhistory.us.org
  • genealogy.us.org
  • ancestor.us.org

If interested in supporting this endeavour to stop these sites from scamming people, please consider blocking their advertising on your site(s).

I also want to apologize. I know my posting about these sites so much recently may be too much, but I feel it’s important to help others avoid these sites. I promise to post something new and different later today.
