My original plans for modifying the genealogy links list in my sidebar did not proceed as planned. Unfortunately, the plugin I was going to use did not work out.
So, back to the drawing board. I did some research and learned how to create bookmarks within a page and set up a ‘Categories List’ of bookmarks links for the main categories of the list. Just click on the categories link and it will automatically scroll to the desired links.
This means that my sidebar (therefore page) will be just as long, but this function will greatly reduce time taken to scroll and search what can be a very confusing list.
